Astra Drift — Ch. III Get a build

Indie game studio · Toronto

Hand-drawn worlds, built to be played.

We're a Kensington Market studio crafting ligne-claire adventures, co-op roguelikes, and pixel-perfect ports — from first sketch to shipped build.

Our story

From a market stall to shipped titles

A small team of artists, designers, and engineers who believe a game should feel like a comic you can step inside.

2016

A stall on Baldwin Street

Two friends sold hand-inked art zines in Kensington Market and prototyped their first game between weekend shifts.

2019

Astra Drift ships

Our debut roguelike launched to 40,000 first-week players and a spot on the store's "Fresh Indie" shelf.

2022

The studio grows to twelve

We moved into a proper studio, added a porting team, and started taking on co-development work for other creators.

Today

Three worlds in production

We're building original titles and helping partner studios finish theirs — all still drawn by hand, frame by frame.

Sofia P.

Player · Toronto, ON

"I sat in on a playtest lab in Kensington and got to watch the team iterate on a boss fight in real time. Rare to feel that close to how a game is made."

Solo dev · Calgary, AB

"The narrative retainer kept my branching script coherent when I was drowning in dialogue. Genuinely felt like a co-writer, not a vendor."
